The Japanese publisher Media Factory announced today that the light novel
“The Detective Is Already Dead” (Japanese: “Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru.”) will receive an anime adaptation. You can see a first visual later in the article.
Start Date is Still Pending
The series is directed by Manabu Kurihara in the studio ENGI (“Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!”). Hitomi Mieno (“Assassins Pride”) takes over the series composition, while Yousuke Itou contributes the character design. A start date has yet to be set.
The anime is the full title of »The Detective Is Already Dead: The Lost Memory» and adapts the reminiscence chapter, which spans the first three volumes of the Light Novel. The film stars Shin Nagai (Daisen Kokoriki in »Nanbaka 2») as Kimizuka Kimihiko and Saki Miyashita (Kanata Higa in »Harukana Receive») as Siesta.
Further information on the series will be announced on the official website at a later date. A second visual is scheduled for release on February 20, 2021.
The original Light Novel, which will be published by Yen Press in English from June 2021, was written by Nigojuu and has been published by Media Factory since November 2019 with illustrations by Umibouzu. The work currently comprises four volumes.
