Even before the film “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time” premieres in Japan next month, Studio Khara announced today on Twitter that the production is now complete.
Film starts in January 2021
A tweet from the studio states that all work on the compositing, on the dubbing and on the editing of the film has been completed. Director Hideaki Anno is said to have gone through all departments before sending the tweet to share the happy news with staff and congratulate them for their hard work.
Like the first three parts, “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0” was written in Studio Khara, directed by series creator Hideaki Anno (“Neon Genesis Evangelion”), Kazuya Tsurumaki and Katsuichi Nakayama. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto contributed the character design, while Shirou Sagisu composed the music.
The film was originally scheduled to launch in Japan on June 27, 2020, but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The new start date is 23 January 2021.
